Roger Bacon:
Roger bacon was an English scholastic philosopher.
Some people considered his as a scientist because he observed things for himself, instead of reading other books that other people wrote.
He was a independent learner.
He studied in the University of Paris for geometry, arithmetic, music, and astronomy; he then was an educational reformer at the Oxford in England.
He became a Franciscan friar at the age 33.
Bacon was the one that made the theory of the world being a sphere.
Rene Descartes:
Considered the first modern philosopher.
His first publication was the touchstone of the scientific method.
Discourse
describes how scientific study should be prosecuted so as to achieve the utmost clarity.
Descartes dabbled extensively in his studies of cosmology and the nature of matter.
He made theories on the make up of matter.
